Here’s how much snow fell across Massachusetts on Wednesday, Jan. 27 Updated Jan 27, 2021; Facebook Share A light winter storm swept through Massachusetts and much of southern New England on Tuesday, bringing as little as 2 inches of snow to eastern parts of the commonwealth and as much as 5-plus inches to the interior of the state. Reports of snow began to trickle in Tuesday afternoon and continued overnight. The precipitation is expected to last in Berkshire County until as late as 10 a.m., forecasters said. Much of the state will see snow keep falling until between 7 and 9 a.m., with the precipitation stopping earlier in Eastern Massachusetts.

Meet the 12-year-old junior hunter champion with very big ambitions

The rising star of Sunday’s final day of hunter competition in the second week of the 2021 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) was 12-year-old Rylynn Conway, who rode Perseus YC to champion in the Junior Hunter 3’3″ 15 and under division. The talented young rider of Fair Haven, NJ, and Mountain King Ranch LLC’s 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding were awarded top honors after earning two firsts, two thirds and a seventh place. A competitive field of 25 came forward for the division and the pair remained at the top of the class throughout both days of competition, winning under saddle as well as an over fences class with a score of 86.

William T. ‘Bill’ Caldwell III WILLIAMSBURG Dr. William Thomas “Bill” Caldwell III, 91, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, with loved ones at his side. Bill was born June 4, 1929, in Camden, New Jersey, to William T. Caldwell Jr. and Rose Mary (McGinness) Caldwell. He spent his youth in Moorestown, New Jersey, where he attended the Moorestown Friends School before graduating from The Taft School in Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1946. He joined the U.S. Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at Princeton University at the age of 17. He completed the NROTC Midshipman Practice Cruise at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, in 1947. He earned a B.S. Degree (Chemistry) from Princeton University in 1950 and a Medical Degree from Columbia University in 1954. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 as lieutenant in the Medical Corps and as a flight surgeon on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. In 1958, he left active duty to begin a residency in ophthalmology at
